LONGMONT, Colo., July 27, 2021 – Pull out your lederhosen and dirndls, because Longmont’s Oktoberfest is back! The Left Hand Brewing Foundation (LHBF) is proud to present Longmont’s favorite fall gathering for the 9th time on Saturday, September 25 from 11:00am-9:00pm MT in Roosevelt Park. Tickets, including new bundled ticket specials, are on-sale now at www.lhbfoundation.org. All event proceeds benefit A Woman’s Work and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation.
Ranked as the “Best Local Outdoor Event” by Times Call, Longmont’s Oktoberfest welcomes Wood Belly as this year’s headliner. Wood Belly masterfully blends traditional bluegrass with contemporary innovation, each song having its own lyrical persona. Traditional Bavarian favorites will bring the Oktoberfest spirit to life throughout the day while an eclectic mix of rock, bluegrass, and more will be welcomed to the main stage. The full line-up includes CSU’s Neue Polka as the house band, Denver’s Thirsty Five, FY5, Foxfeather, and The Parlor Pickers.
The festival features 10+ breweries, distilleries, cideries, and food vendors, showcasing a wide variety of the beverage and culinary creativity for which Boulder County is renowned. Attendees can participate in classic Oktoberfest activities including sack races (with heats for kids and adults), stein holding contests, a costume contest, and fun for all ages!
“LHBF could not be more excited to be bringing back this event after such a difficult year for our community. What a fantastic way to not only reconnect, but to also be raising funds and awareness for both A Woman’s Work and LHBF,” said Megan Mahar, the Development Manager for LHBF. “As one of the first large Longmont festivals since 2020, we want to set a precedent for safety. There will be enhanced cleaning protocols in place at the event, such as regular sanitizing of portable restroom door handles and common seating areas. We will also provide additional hand-sanitizing stations throughout the park. We’re working extra hard to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable attending, because we’re ready to party together!”
Entry is only $10 though LHBF is offering new bundled ticket specials to enhance the festival experience. A $25 ticket includes event admission along with two drink tokens for the event. A $35 ticket is the best value, including event admission, two drink tokens, and a custom, commemorative Oktoberfest stein. Kids 12 and under may attend for free. About A Woman’s Work
A Woman’s Work is a unique funding source for women in the St. Vrain Valley who need financial support for immediate needs that cannot be met by other sources. Their assistance pays for a wide variety of needs including child care, housing, transportation, medical needs, and more. In return, they ask only that the recipient pays the kindness forward.
It all started with a question asked by a small group of women in 2003: What happens to normally self-sufficient women in our community when they are met with financial crisis and there is no help available from family and friends? The answer, they found, was disappointing – there was little support available to many who found themselves in that situation. This group of women took matters into their own hands and set a goal of raising $10,000 by finding 100 women in 100 days who would donate $100 each. That goal was achieved in 13 days and A Woman’s Work was created.
