Longmont Oktoberfest returns October 5-6 Featuring National Touring Artists JJ Grey and Mofro

Event proceeds benefit the St. Vrain Football Club Scholarship Program and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation

LONGMONT, Colo., Aug. 14, 2018 – Pull out your lederhosen and dirndls, grab a pretzel or brat and hoist your stein because Longmont Oktoberfest is back! Presented by the Left Hand Brewing Foundation for the 7th year in a row, Longmont Oktoberfest returns Oct. 5-6 to Roosevelt Park in Longmont, Colo. Longmont Oktoberfest is Longmont’s favorite fall gathering and this year will feature national touring artists JJ Grey and Mofro as well as 10+ breweries, local food, and games for all ages. Ranked as a “Must Visit Oktoberfest” by DRAFT Magazine, Longmont Oktoberfest celebrates the summer’s transition to fall while supporting two local organizations – The St. Vrain Football Club’s scholarship program and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation

This year’s headlining artist, JJ Grey and Mofro is one of the biggest talents to ever perform in Longmont. During his career he has brought his blues/southern rock sound to nearly every major venue in Colorado including headlining dates at Red Rocks Amphitheater. From the days of playing greasy local juke joints to headlining major festivals, JJ Grey remains an unfettered, blissful performer, singing with a blue-collared spirit over the bone-deep grooves of his compositions. His presence before an audience is something startling and immediate, at times a funk rave-up, other times a sort of mass-absolution for the mortal weaknesses that make him and his audience human. When you see JJ Grey and his band Mofro live—and you truly, absolutely must—the man is fearless.

Music will be in the air throughout the event, with local talent supporting JJ Grey on Friday night, and a full slate of local musicians and bands performing all day on Saturday. Performances will include traditional Oktoberfest music as well as some of Longmont’s most well-known performers. Stay tuned to for additional announcements in the weeks to come.

In addition to music all weekend, the event will feature classic Oktoberfest activities including sack races (kids and adults), stein holding contests, a costume contest, bratwurst eating competition, cooking up Colorado’s longest brat and the tapping of the official Oktoberfest keg to kick off the event on Friday evening.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 17th at 10am at www.lhbfoundaation.org and for just $15 concert goers can not only enjoy the Friday night concert but attend all day Saturday as well! Single day tickets for Saturday are also available for just $5. Longmont Oktoberfest is a family event and tickets for kids 5-12 are $5 and those younger are free. For the ultimate event experience, VIP tickets are available for $65 and include access to the VIP lounge, premium seating, free VIP-only food and beverages, special beer pairings and private restrooms.

Food and libations will be in full effect along with the music vibes including local food trucks and Longmont’s favorite craft breweries, cideries and distilleries. Drink tokens can be purchased for $6 or four tokens for $20. Cash or credit will be accepted and there will be an ATM on site. To date, Longmont Oktoberfest has raised more than $246,000 in donations to charitable organizations. This year’s Longmont Oktoberfest sponsors include First National Bank, High Country Harley, High Plains Bank, Airgas, Westrock, Best Western Plus, and more.
